We are looking for a compassionate physician to provide primary care for patients suffering from injuries, common illnesses, and chronic conditions. The physician's responsibilities include diagnosing and treating injuries, illnesses, and disorders, prescribing medications, making recommendations on lifestyle changes, and answering patients' questions. A physician may work in one or more areas such as family and general medicine, internal medicine, and pediatrics. 

To be a successful physician, you should treat all patients with respect and dignity while delivering quality healthcare.  You should be collaborative, knowledgeable, detail oriented, and have good problem-solving skills. 


 
Duties and Responsibilities: 

Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment of a variety of conditions for patients of all ages.
Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
Maintain a working knowledge of ICD10, CPT, HCPCS, and HCC coding and managed care.
Maintains and completes patients’ health records accurately, concisely, and close visit notes within company policy standards.
Participates in the on-call rotation schedule as needed
Trains and supervises advanced practice providers (APPs) engaged in primary care activities and procedures, as appropriate.
Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 

Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.
Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
Qualifications and Requirements: 

MD or DO Degree required
Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Tennessee, or obtain TN license
DEA registration
Board Certified in Primary Care, Internal Medicine or Family Practice; advanced certification in geriatrics preferred
One year of primary care experience with a frail elderly population is highly desired (however new grads considered)
Current BLS Certification is required
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate the ability to interact clearly and effectively with both internal and external customers
Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment
